Drawings and Books by
USHIO Kuni
The confrontation of his
experiences in the German
and Japanese Culture are one
essential topic in the illustrations
of Ushio.
In his series Till and
Tarô a German Clown and a
Japanese Samurai meet and
confront each other with German
and Japanese sayings and
idioms, that often have a very
similiar sense but mostly work
different in their metaphors.
Kuni Ushio was born in Yokohama,
Japan, in 1980 and lived with
his parents in Germany from
1982 to 1995.
At Musashino
Art University, Tôkyô, he studied
Communication Design. Since
2007 he studies at HGB Book art
/ Graphic Design (Illustration).
Exhibitions in Japan, there
he worked also as Graphic
Designer.
Together with Hoshino
Keiko he will design the print
works of the festival.
